The Parish Council

The Parish Council is concerned with all areas of parish activity that enriches the quality of parish life and enables parishioners to live out the life of faith in their everyday lives.
In addition the Parish Council deals with the mission of the Church, planning both for the short and long term.

Its principal role is to:

• Listen and represent the needs and concerns of the parish and wider community.
• Consider and develop initiatives which promote the translation of the parish vision into practice.
• Ensure that effective communication takes place with the parish, the Deanery, the Diocese and the wider community.
• Recognise and build on work already done and to celebrate the gifts and achievement of all parishioners.

The Parish Council meets 6 times per year, January, March, May, July, September and November at 7.30pm in the large Upper Room SLCc. It has been part of the parish life since October 2004. It is a vibrant meeting place of ideas and support for the Parish Priest where key items of parish growth are discussed. For example youth has been a constant concern for the Parish Council as we strive to find ways to engage young people more in the life of the parish.

We welcome suggestions for items to be put on the agenda from the parish by use of the suggestion box at the rear of the Church or by email. Please feel free to email the Parish Council with your views and suggestions on parish matters or if you would like to help in any way in the parish at pc@stlsidcup.org

A copy of both the agenda and minutes are published for the parish on the noticeboard and parish website and our constitution can be read here
